A jewel of a gallery with a secret garden
Meander through the rooms leading to a magical and peaceful garden at the back or climb the spiral stairs to yet another room showing a different selection of paintings and artwork.
Since its original existence as a fashion boutique in the 60s, as a picture framers in the 70s and a gallery in the 80s the Gallery's history is reflected in the variety and character of the spaces.
The fascinating traditional aspect of the original building remains but is enhanced by a contemporary twist. A similarly balanced range of Fine Art can be purchased: oil paintings, watercolours, etchings and sketches by earlier Galloway and Scottish artists, or the very latest work by contemporary artists can be seen for sale in the lively changing exhibition programme.
A veritable treasure house
Inspired by the talent of artists' work, Jill and Zoë arrange and display it in the interesting differently shaped spaces, nooks, crannies and corners. Visitors can choose from paintings, prints, pieces of pottery, glass and jewellery- all individually created and designed.
