Anitra has exhibited at the R.S.A., the S.S.A. and in several private galleries in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dumfriesshire, East Lothian, Newcastle, and Harrogate. These include the Open Eye, The Courtyard Gallery in Crail and The Walker Gallery in Harrogate. She had a one-woman exhibition in 2001 in the Shire Gallery, Alnwick, Northumberland. Also in 2001 she was one of three painters exhibiting in the Colours Gallery, Edinburgh. In 2002 and 2003 she exhibited work at the Randolph Gallery, Edinburgh.

She has three times submitted work to the Morrison Portrait Award Competition at the R.S.A. and had the work selected and hung.

She has lived and worked in Berwickshire for 15 years after many years in Dumfries and Galloway.

After graduating from Glasgow School of Art, where she was fortunate to be taught by William and Mary Armour and David Donaldson, she brought up her family with David Sinclair and worked as a teacher. Later she returned to painting and also started to teach adult art classes.

She continues to teach drawing and painting to adult classes.
