1885 - 1984 Painter in oil watercolour and pastel and also a woodcut artist. Sister of Isobel Hotchkis. Studied Glasgow School of Art 1906-1907 and then studied in Munich with Hans Lasker.
Attended Edinburgh College of Art 1907-1910 under Robert Burns. Travelled widely to China and North America as well as around Europe. Taught at Yen Ching University, Peking 1922-1924. Stayed in China until 1937. Associated with the Green Gate Close coterie in Kirkcudbright where she rented a studio from Jessie M King.
