Artist Charles Oppenheimer was born in Manchester. He studied at Manchester School of Art under Walter Crane and Richard Willis, and in Italy.
Exhibited Royal Academy, Royal Scottish Academy, Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolours, Fine Art Society and widely abroad, including Paris Salon. His work is owned by Manchester City Art Gallery, the Whitworth Art Gallery and many other British galleries. He also exhibited in America and South Africa.
Lived in Kirkcudbright, Scotland.
