HELEN M TURNER PAI PPAI
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of artist Helen Turner. As many of you will know, she was a bright and energetic member of the Scottish arts scene. She continued painting into her mid eighties and did so with great energy and enthusiasm. She will be so sadly missed by her family and all her friends, of whom there are many. Helen was past President of the Paisley Art Institute and a Trustee of the Maclaurin Gallery in Ayr.
Jill and I have been selling her paintings in the gallery for over ten years and we always looked forward to a visit from Helen. Even at the age of 86 she insited on carrying huge canvases down the street, whistling as she went! Her visits down to Galloway were always a chance for her to have a picnic by the edge of Loch Ken with her beloved poodle Bonnie. Her joie de vivre was quite infectious and we will miss her such a lot. She lives on in all our hearts and in the wonderful legacy of her beautiful paintings.
