Artworks by Peter Jones
Working quickly in line and wash he seeks to capture the character and individuality of the building he portrays, carefully observing the details which are so personal and unique; a flower pot on a doorstep, a lamp in a window, or the subtle hues of stonework.
Peter’s house portraits began in Kirkcudbright, a town very close to his heart which he has known all of his life. This body of work has been showcased in two solo exhibitions at the High Street Gallery in Kirkcudbright, in 2012 and 2014 and has been published in a book, ‘Kirkcudbright, a book of paintings by Peter Jones’.
More recent work has focused on Portobello, where Peter lives with his family, and Falkland, in Fife.
Now in demand for commissions across Scotland and beyond Peter is always looking for fresh opportunities and enjoys sketching at every opportunity.
